As an athlete, the pursuit of victory is a never-ending journey. Countless hours are dedicated to perfecting your craft, making even the slightest adjustments for significant improvements. But what happens when the game is over, and the chase comes to an end?
This is a question I've asked myself time and time again. It seems like I have this persistent desire for the next significant challenge, only to reach it and still find myself wondering, "What's next?" Some people struggle to get out of their comfort zone, my issue is the opposite. I'm constantly chasing this life of uncomfortable, which in hindsight doesn't sound all too bad - aside from the fact that nothing is ever satisfying enough.
I suppose what I'm trying to say is that there is beauty in simplicity. There is a sense of peace in feeling settled. There is a comfort in certainty. And I believe that as humans, we inherently require those things.
So the real question for me isn't "What's next", but rather "What's balance" - something we washed-up athletes may not know too much about.
